Request Secondary IP
The modem default IP is set to use the Ethernet port which is 192.168.100.1. You can use this IP address to log in to the interface GUI. The new IP requests from the ISP or you can do it from the GUI interface window.
Get into the interface dashboard using the computer. Just connect the device with the modem via working port of SB8200. Open browser and search the IP 192.168.100.1. You will get to the Arris modem login page. Use the username and password, access the dashboard, and open the Network settings. Here, you must add the DHCP IP and save it.
Replace Ethernet Port
If the Ethernet port is damage then you must replace it from the shop. The mechanic will pull out the damaged port and add up a new port in to the device, it can be costly because the parts are only available in Arris stores.
Reset Modem Device
There can be a network issue if you have a secondary IP assigned to the modem and the port isn’t damage, then you should reset the device. This is possible with a simple button given on back of the SB8200 modem.
Just press and hold the RESET button about 10 seconds. After some minutes, the device will reset and you have to adjust the settings again from the GUI interface through IP address.
